This project, deeply
influenced by the Australian Gothic, resides on the edges of architecture.
Films such as The Long Weekend, Mad Max, and Picnic at Hanging Rock, with their
distinct aesthetics and narratives, became integral to the context. Temporary
dwellings and closed-looped systems for energy recapture were a key part of the
proposal.
Inspired by a site visit to future food system (Joost Bakker's living, no-waste eco-house), this closed-loop system looks at capturing the effluents of a human and turning them into food through the process of anaerobic digestion.
Simulated Planning: Animating
the various buildings to be placed on site and then simulating forces on Blender
becomes the starting point for overall site planning and the relationships
between various buildings, adjusted after of course.
