saibaldutta.com is an active archive of work from a recent architectural graduate.
Interested in the architectures of simplicity. Heat management, migration stories, repair-reuse are threads of long-term pursuits.

Dos Cabezas by Jean-Michel Basquiat
captured a moment between him and Andy Warhol. The most amazing thing was the
sheer speed at which he worked. The story[1] goes that after having lunch with Warhol, he took home a Polaroid shot by
Warhol of them together and two hours later returned with a painting (still
wet) and presented it to him. Similarly, Prince is storied to have over 20
years of unreleased music inside a vault. The anti-precious nature of the work
and the sheer volume is enviable. Inspired, the following posters have been created in
between 1 and 2 hours. Usually, the drawings start as an extremely rough figure
drawn using a blunt pencil (to encourage anti-precious behaviour and convey the
key idea)
Afterlife: Scale of tools compared to the
medium, using a 0.2mm Fineliner or 10mm Crayon. Seeds of critique and embedded
ideas ready to be developed further.
